About Fluency Corp
Fluency Corp provides corporate language training to large companies, including Fortune 500 organizations. Our learners are professionals and executives who need English for their real work: meetings, presentations, emails and client conversations. HR teams choose us because our classes are built around what each learner actually needs at work, not around a textbook.
The role
You’ll teach live, one-on-one English classes online to corporate professionals and executives. Learners are typically based in the United States, so most classes fall within US business hours, which line up well with Mexico City time. Learners choose their own schedules.
Every class is built from the learner’s real working life. That means working through the emails they actually need to write, rehearsing the presentation they’re giving next week, or preparing the exact words they’ll use in a meeting later that day. You’ll correct, suggest, and build the vocabulary they need for those situations, so their colleagues notice the difference.
Who we’re looking for
You’re a C2 speaker or native speaker of American English living in Mexico City, with at least 10 years of experience teaching English to adults. You’ve worked with executives or senior professionals and know how to keep a class focused on business results.
You probably learned a language yourself as an adult, perhaps Spanish here in Mexico, so you know from experience that grammar drills and fill-in-the-blank worksheets don’t make people fluent. Practicing the conversations you actually need does. If that matches how you already teach, we’d like to hear from you.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience teaching English to adults
- Experience teaching executives or senior professionals
- Native-level American English
- Based in Mexico City, with a reliable internet connection and a quiet space to teach
- Availability during US business hours
- A TEFL, CELTA or other teaching certificate
What we offer
- $20–28 USD per hour, paid in US dollars (depends on contract with the client)
- Fully online, so no commuting between company sites
- Consistent, long-term learners from large corporate clients
- Paid once or twice monthly
How to apply
Send your CV and a short answer to this question: An executive tells you they have an important meeting with a client in three hours and are nervous about their English. How would you use your 60-minute class with them?
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: $523.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2.0 – 10.0 per week
Application Question(s):
- What is the pay for this job?
- How did you learn English?
- Have you learned a second language as an adult? What helped you most improve?
Work Location: Remote
