We're looking for an experienced Senior Symfony/PHP Developer to help improve and expand our system. We are a small team, and our code moves from development to production quickly. This means you’ll get to see the results of your work in a matter of days… and it also means that your code needs to be perfect so we don’t push any bugs live.

Tasks

• Improve existing endpoints, and build new ones, that support hundreds of thousands of users
• Create clear, object-oriented code that is well-commented and easily maintainable
• Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks for lightning-fast performance
• Integrate third party APIs with our platform
• Review the work of other developers

Requirements

The Professional Experience You Have:

• 5+ years of professional experience working with PHP
• 4+ years of professional experience with object-oriented programming concepts
• 4+ years of professional experience with Symfony
• 2+ years of professional experience with Heroku
• Experience with MySQL
• Experience working with GitHub as a member of a development team
• Desired: experience working with GitHub, GDC/GCP, Firebase, AWS S3/DDB, OAuth, Alexa, Siri, Signal, Redmine, and/or Golang is a plus, but is not required

Important: This is a Contract-to-Permanent Position

We look forward to welcoming you to our team -- and we understand that startups are not a fit for everyone. This position will start with a up to four 3-month trial periods, after which you may be hired full time if the trials go well. Full-time hires have the opportunity to earn equity in our company as well as receive employment benefits.

Work Location

This position will be primarily (95%+) remote, with occasional in-person meetings. We are a global team, and you are welcome to set your own work hours as long as they mesh well with the overall team.
