Scorpios is now looking to build a highly dedicated team to drive the brand to its highest potential.

Job Description

Scorpios Tulum is seeking a Sales Director to lead our brand's global expansion efforts. This role involves developing and implementing sales and branding strategies for our property, aiming to maximize revenue and elevate our brand’s prestige. Your responsibilities will include crafting integrated marketing and communication strategies that adhere to and enhance our brand identity.

You will oversee the sales department, significantly contributing to F&B revenues and meeting property sales targets. Providing daily guidance to your team, you will manage both proactive and reactive sales efforts to meet booking goals and optimize revenue, in collaboration with the Global Sales Director and Revenue Director.

Additionally, your role involves executing the brand's service strategy and launching sales campaigns to build lasting, valuable customer relationships. You will analyze and improve the effectiveness of sales channels, including digital sales efforts within the Reservations & Events Department, to ensure effective marketing and proactive positioning of our properties.

You will also be responsible for developing and mentoring the Sales team and contributing to HR initiatives to increase brand exposure and attract top talent.

Reporting to the Global Sales Director, your leadership will be key to Scorpios Tulum’s global recognition and success.

Pre-opening Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop the local Sales Department, implementing Scorpios SOPs to the local market and culture, reflecting the Scorpios Brand essence.
  • Create tactical sales plans at the property level to drive occupancy, improve average rates, and enhance business volume across all seasons.
  • Establish room allocation and pricing strategies in cooperation with the Operations Teams and Global Director of Sales and Management for Local Scorpios Accounts.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to develop training manuals and onboarding materials that reflect the brand's core values and service standards.
  • Engage with Operations, Revenue, Marketing, and Finance teams for sound and realistic business planning in new and future site developments.
  • Plan the Sales department set up for Scorpios Tulum, including staffing, training, and initiating operations.

Operational Responsibilities:

  • Monitor sales activities and performance against the established revenue plan in collaboration with the Revenue Director.
  • Develop new accounts, maintain existing ones, and implement strategies to achieve revenue goals and maximize profits while ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Generate regular reports and sales forecasts to track progress against financial plans and sales goals.
  • Ensure all properties adhere to Scorpios brand standards and values, obtaining agreement for any deviations from the Visual Identity Manual.
  • Oversee advertising and communications plans for each location, ensuring they align with brand objectives.

Executional Responsibilities:

  • Achieve budgeted revenues and personal/team sales goals, participating in the annual departmental operating budget and financial planning.
  • Develop an effective marketing plan to achieve budget revenue targets in collaboration with the Managing Director of Marketing.
  • Manage sales personnel of Scorpios Tulum, establishing clear goals, organizing work assignments, and motivating the team towards achieving revenue and guest satisfaction targets.
  • Conduct training sessions for sales employees, emphasizing core values and service standards, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with the HR team for team member selection, training, scheduling, coaching, and support, ensuring performance in line with Scorpios values.
  • Establish controlling and reporting methods with the Global Sales Director for sales, revenue maximization and performance improvement.
  • Interact with OTAs and online platforms to enhance digital marketing efforts and online presence.

Team Leadership and Motivation:

  • Build and lead a cohesive team of Sales Managers & Coordinators, providing ongoing coaching, support, and motivation to foster a positive team culture.
  • Continuously identify talent and implement strategies for internal growth and career development within the sales team.
  • Ensure the sales team's strict compliance with health, safety, hygiene regulations, emergency procedures, and company policies.

Candidate Profile:

  • Demonstrates an internal drive and the ability to thrive in a demanding, fast-paced work environment.
  • Exhibits strong problem-solving skills, working efficiently and effectively, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional communication skills and a natural inclination towards teamwork.


Mandatory Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in finance.
  • 5+ years of experience in a related role within a similar brand.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written); additional proficiency will be a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of local financial regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Experience developing and implementing Finance policies and procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to Finance.
  • Ability to create and manage budgets effectively and allocate resources strategically.
  • Hospitality industry experience is a considerable asset.
