Careit is a startup dedicated to tackling the growing issue of food waste. Our mission is to connect nonprofits with corporations, restaurants, and food vendors to divert surplus food from landfills and redirect it to those in need. Through our innovative mobile and desktop application, we aim to create a more sustainable and equitable food system.

As a company, we are passionate about making a positive impact on both the environment and our communities. By leveraging technology, we strive to streamline the process of food donation, ensuring that edible food reaches those who need it most while reducing the environmental burden of food waste.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and data-focused individual who shares our passion for sustainability and food justice to join our team as a Database and Client Support Specialist. In this role, you will play a crucial part in building and maintaining our database and relationships with our clients, ensuring their success in utilizing our platform to make a difference.

Note: This position is only available to prospective hires located in Mexico. You can be based anywhere in Mexico, with the potential to meet clients and conduct in-person outreach in your area.

Responsibilities:

Customer Support and Client Onboarding

  • Serve as the first point of contact for new clients, providing responsive support and guiding them through onboarding
  • Provide technical assistance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure customer success across the platform
  • Initiate and maintain clear communication to manage client needs and expectations
  • Think like a user—anticipate client needs and advocate for intuitive, user-friendly experiences
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of knowledge base articles and user guides

Data Management and Analysis

  • Upload, clean, and maintain accurate client and donation data, ensuring data integrity
  • Identify and resolve duplicate records, missing information, and discrepancies
  • Ability to use Excel to clean, standardize, and analyze data sets
  • Regularly review and update client information to reflect operational changes

Outreach and Research

  • Conduct research on potential nonprofit partners, food vendors, and local food recovery policies
  • Initiate outreach through calls and emails to engage prospective clients and partners
  • Support the expansion of Careit operations into new English and Spanish-speaking regions
  • Participate in in-person outreach efforts within your local area as needed
  • Deliver presentations and training materials to onboard and support new clients

Process and Organization

  • Document and track client interactions accurately using our CRM and outreach platforms
  • Translate materials into Spanish as needed for client communication and onboarding
  • Balance short- and long-term projects while clearly communicating progress and priorities
  • Over-communicate project status and manage up to ensure alignment with leadership
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline customer support processes

Requirements:

  • Must be based in Mexico with the ability to conduct in-person outreach locally
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English, with strong written communication skills in both languages
  • Ability to translate materials between English and Spanish accurately and efficiently
  • Strong communication skills (phone, email, virtual meetings) with a customer-first mindset
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and data integrity
  • Intermediate Excel skills with the ability to clean, standardize, and manage data sets
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions on when to escalate issues
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, Google Suite, Excel, and virtual communication tools
  • Familiarity with mobile and desktop applications and basic technical troubleshooting
  • Commitment to sustainability, food justice, and delivering exceptional customer service

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in customer support or account management, especially in tech
  • Experience working with nonprofits or within the food industry
  • Strong analytical skills with an understanding of data management best practices
