About the Role:

We are seeking a talented Kotlin Android Developer with experience in native Android development, API integration, and React Native design patterns to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will contribute to the development of high-quality mobile applications with a focus on Jetpack Compose UI and API design. You will be collaborating with our platform team to ensure seamless integration and deployment of features and work closely with backend developers to design and optimize RESTful and GraphQL APIs.

Key Responsibilities:

· Kotlin Android Development: Design, develop, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin with Jetpack Compose for UI development.

· Integration & Optimization: Collaborate with the team to integrate APIs (RESTful and GraphQL) into the mobile application, ensuring performance and usability optimization.

· React Native Design Patterns: Implement mobile app features using design patterns familiar to both native Android and React Native ecosystems.

· API Development: Assist in the design, creation, and consumption of RESTful APIs, GraphQL APIs, and WebSockets to interact with backend systems.

· Database Handling: Work with both relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB) to manage and query data.

· Testing & Quality Assurance: Implement and conduct unit and UI testing using Espresso and Compose UI testing tools.

· CI/CD Integration: Knowledge of continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. While the platform team manages deployment, you will collaborate to ensure smooth deployment processes for mobile apps.

· Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams (designers, product managers, and backend engineers) to deliver high-quality features.

· Performance Optimization: Optimize app performance, focusing on efficient data management and reducing latency with API calls and UI rendering.

· Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation on API usage, code structure, and development practices

Required Skills and Qualifications:

· 5+ years of experience in Kotlin-based Android development, with strong experience in Jetpack Compose for UI development.

· Strong understanding of React Native design patterns and how they translate to native Android development.

· Experience with integration of RESTful APIs and GraphQL for mobile applications.

· Proficiency in working with databases, including relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).

· Experience with automated testing frameworks like Espresso Testing and Compose UI Testing.

· Knowledge of deployment pipelines (CI/CD), with the ability to collaborate with platform teams to ensure smooth mobile app deployment.

· Familiarity with networking protocols and working with WebSockets.

· Good understanding of API design principles and best practices.

· Experience working in agile development environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

· GraphQL knowledge, especially around query optimization and API consumption in mobile apps.

· Exposure to iOS development or experience with cross-platform development practices (React Native, Flutter, etc.).

· Familiarity with mobile app security practices, including secure data handling and authentication protocols (OAuth, JWT).

· Experience in performance tuning for mobile apps (e.g., memory management, API call optimization).

· Strong problem-solving skills, ability to debug complex issues and optimize code for performance.
