Accounts Payable Supervisor Key Competencies:

• Responsible for overseeing timely processing and payment of AP invoices
• Review of weekly payments (checks/ACH/wire/credit card), ensuring accuracy of invoice data entry and that all approvals are in line with the company's limits of authority
• Manage and distribute workload for the AP Department and ensure proper cross-training
• Supervision, recruitment, and training of AP Staff, providing guidance in efforts around problem solving and troubleshooting, collaborating with other teams as necessary
• Assist with annual financial statement audit and other periodic audits by outside agencies
• Work effectively with Purchasing and Receiving departments, minimizing invoices that are placed on the AP problem log when they cannot be properly matched to receipt quantity or pricing on the purchase order
• Prepare and review account reconciliations
• Assist in monthly close tasks; prepare reporting and journal entries for financial close
• Cross train and support the AP Department members as needed.
• Prepare and analyze weekly and monthly metrics for the AP Department
• Assist with month-end close process (reconcile monthly AP sub ledger to General Ledger)
• Review and maintain current AP processes and provide suggestions of opportunity for improvement and automation

Accounts Payable Supervisor Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or relevant studies preferred but not required
• 3+ years of experience in AP (manufacturing environment preferred)
• 3+ years of personnel management experience
• Experience in multi-state sales/use tax a plus
• Hands-on supervisor that is equally comfortable working on day-to-day details as well as higher level review, analysis, and reporting
• Must have experience with MS Excel with an emphasis on vlookups/pivot tables and with ERP accounting systems (AS400 platform is a plus)
• Must have strong project management skills and desire to seek process improvements
• Must possess excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills including the ability to prepare management reports, edit procedures/training material, and understand systems and/or technology issues
• Must be able to effectively interface with different organizations within and outside of the company
• Must possess a keen attention to detail and promote high quality standards
