Castelblanco Law Group is a U.S.-based law firm specializing in tenant rights and legal advocacy for Spanish-speaking clients. We are seeking a detail-oriented, bilingual Legal Assistant to provide remote support to our attorneys in managing legal cases, preparing documentation, and maintaining client communication. Responsibilities:
- Legal Documentation: Prepare pleadings, discovery, and correspondence for litigation cases.
- Client Communication: Act as a liaison for Spanish-speaking clients, ensuring they feel informed and supported.
- Administrative Support: Input client information into Clio (Client Management Software) and maintain organized client and litigation files.
- Legal Research: Assist attorneys with research and compiling findings into concise reports.
- Document Management: Review, organize, and prepare client documents, including Bates stamping photos and documents for discovery using Adobe Acrobat.
- Deadline Management: Work with the litigation coordinator to ensure all deadlines are met by regularly reviewing the litigation calendar.
- Client Interviews: Conduct intake and discovery interviews with plaintiffs in both English and Spanish.
- Team Collaboration: Provide assistance to attorneys and staff as needed, including phone support and general administrative tasks.
Requirements:
- Bilingual: Fluent in both English and Spanish (written and spoken).
- Experience: Previous experience in legal support or administrative roles (experience reviewing medical records is a plus).
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Excellent writing and communication skills in both languages.
- Proficiency in Clio (or similar client management software), Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Education: College degree required.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in handling legal documents and correspondence.
- Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with attorneys, clients, and other staff members.
