Gualapack, a leading Flexible Packaging Company with a strong focus on sustainability, innovation and social responsibility, is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Product Engineer to join our team.

In our plant in Mexico we are growing and we are looking for talented and engaged people.

Gualapack Mexico - Product Development Project Coordinator:
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for leading and coordinating flexible packaging project developments, from multi layer films to spouted pouches. Will ensure that projects are managed efficiently, meeting established deadlines, quality, and budget, while ensuring customer satisfaction. This position requires a proactive individual with the ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams and the ability to quickly learn technical topics related to the flexible packaging industry.

Responsibilities:
1. Project Management:
o Plan, coordinate, and oversee the development of flexible packaging projects from conception to final implementation.

o Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with the required quality standards, covering everything from the definition of raw materials required, processes and parameters to be used, supply chain times, costing, release of document requirements, delivery times to the customer, definition of testing and validation stages and industrial scalation with customer products.

o With defined plans and activities, closely monitor the completion of each step, supporting the various production processes involved.

2. Team Leadership:
o Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary work teams, leading them to focus activities and planning to achieve the objectives.

o Ability and capacity to lead a team under his/her responsibility to coordinate projects across different markets, clients, applications, and/or divisions within the company.

o Foster a collaborative and efficient environment, ensuring that each team member meets their objectives and responsibilities.

o Maintain ongoing and productive relationships with similar positions at other plants within the same Group to share and adopt best practices, as well as implement know-how transfer exercises when an innovation has already been validated in another region of the Group.

3. Customer Relations:
o Maintain constant communication with customers to understand their needs, expectations, and feedback regarding projects.

o Actively participate in meetings and material trials at customer’s lines, supporting the development and corresponding validations, presenting project progress, resolving technical questions together with the team, and proposing options that we could develop to meet customer needs.

4. Technical Development and Continuous Improvement:
o Quickly learn about the technical manufacturing processes related to flexible packaging, or even better if you already have experience in the flexible packaging (or similar) industry.

o Propose process improvements, always seeking cost and quality optimization.

o Ensure that packaging solutions comply with the regulations and standards of the market and clients they will be targeting, in collaboration with the regulatory affairs team/role, quality assurance, and technical specialist.

5. Quality Control:
o In collaboration with quality assurance, analyze the product application, client needs, testing, processes performed by the client, etc., to create a quality control plan consistent with established standards.

Requirements:
  • University degree in Chemical, Industrial, or related engineering (preferable).
  • 3-5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, preferably in the flexible packaging or similar field.
  • Knowledge or ability to quickly learn about flexible packaging technical processes.
  • Experience in project management, team coordination, and client management.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to negotiate and discuss with clients.
  • Advanced English.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proactive attitude, problem-solving skills, and quick decision-making.
  • Ability to interpret technical concepts, requirements, documents, and regulations (preferred).
