For folks who are passionate about their work, your experience can be hit-or-miss. If you rely on the work of others, there is no accountability. If you take on other people's responsibilities to get the job done, the responsibility becomes yours - with no fallout for the other team. Hard work doesn't always lead to promotion. And, if it does, it can take years for it to happen. Every year we are strongly encouraged to fill out a Tell Dell survey. If you call out any issues, it will be your team who is given tasks/training/etc to address the issue. Most people just lie on the survey to avoid the repercussions of any negative feedback.Every year, Dell goes through a massive "strategy cascade", where the executives set the playing field for the year, and then it trickles down to each team to adapt and deliver upon. Lots of meetings. This year, Agile is being touted as "the thing" that will take Dell to the next level. So everyone in my Org is going to days/weeks worth of training. This is on top of still having Operational responsibilities. I'm sure that two years from now there will be another "thing" to go through.Plus, Dell typically pays lower than market, at least for Cybersecurity folks. It hasn't bothered me much, since I love my actual job and the people I regularly work with. However, the lack of recognition for hard work, and the lack of accountability on others who don't take their responsibilities seriously, has me "considering other opportunities".

Fast-paced work with lots of runway to grow.

Dell Inc. Is a great place to get into Technology. The business needs personnel from non-technical to the most gifted computer engineers in the world. Take advantage of 401K matching, you'll be fully vested in 5 years.

Work-life balance on the flip-side

Dell is pushing hard on remote work, which in a way is good for work-life balance but the programs lack adequate financial compensation. Stipends are not that great and being cut over time.

management plays favorites and only look out for themselves

Nothing positive to say about the managers I had. Self serving and insecure with people who know more and are more experienced than they are. Cliquish.

OK OK company

Bangalore Engg Team is a newly formed team - but still the Attrition is very very high. The only reason is - it is Extremely Difficult to work with the Bangalore Engg Management and Extreme micro management. if he doesn't already know you. There is a High Partiality. Even if you join , you will get to know about this in no time. There is no Work Life Balance & Mental Peace. Extreme MICRO-MANAGEMENT Unnecessary pressure and deadlines. Work 11-14 hours You wont get personal life , The Bangalore Management always keeps criticizing about the CTO & VP Last but not least they will not give you Hikes. Director simply gives promises on hike and it will not happen. They only care about work not employee. No facilities in Bangalore other than pantry with (maggi, biscuits and soft drinks)

Be warned: Zero job security

It happened to me, and to others (at a few locations in the US). Senior management, at Dell, will get an idea for a 2 to 3 year project, hire on people for the big project, get them access to the servers, and train them. 6 - 9 months later, senior management will get bored of this big project, cancel it, and lay off all the people they hired. A few months later, senior management will start the cycle all over again with another new project. Some long time, 1st level managers are leaving, or have already left Dell as they are tired of having to constantly hire, and train people only to let them go, and start over a few months later for basically the same exact job duties. There are people out there (including myself) who absolutely refuse to look at any job rec from Dell because they know Dell won't hold up their end of deal as far as length of the project.

Good company for a stable job

Good job for those seeking a stable income and are able to perform at an above average level. Not alot of room for promotion but lots of opportunity to move around the company after 18 months.

Dell is only about the profits

All about the profits and not about the people. Lots of pretense to care about the people but really about "posting scores" to use in marketing only. The corrective efforts are to lay off anybody that is older and disagrees with the poor management. Senior people fear for their jobs, and if it can be outsourced to inferior people, you should fear for your job.
