Los primeros 5 años trabaje en la planta de manufactura, yo me encargaba de hacer el plan de produccion para las diferntes fabricas de ordenadores. Aprendi y creci mucho. Fun times

I worked with Dell for a school project and really enjoyed working there. The people were very supportive and our manager was receptive and welcomed communication.

Great place to work, buy growth may be challenging in some circumstances

I have worked for Dell for 12 years. Dell provides great benefits. Advancement may be difficult and require a move to another department of group depending on the skills need for a promotion. Otherwise it is a stable company to work for. Management is great and will make every effort to help in guiding your career, but it is up to the employee to chart the path and have the drive to succeed. Goals can be high and require going beyond a normal 40hr week. A Dell employee must be self driven to succeed.

Great company to grow your career

Dell is a big company. Great place to grow your career whether you are entry level or a veteran. Like any large corporation, your results may vary depending on the team/manager you work on. I've had both great and terrible experiences at Dell. Your experience is directly dependent on the team, manager, and director you work for.

Fast-paced work with lots of runway to grow.

Dell Inc. Is a great place to get into Technology. The business needs personnel from non-technical to the most gifted computer engineers in the world. Take advantage of 401K matching, you'll be fully vested in 5 years.

Unrealistic Quotas

Quotas are unattainable and overall pay is not good. Extremely stressful position at times. If you have thick skin this might be a good option for you.

Trust your team is important-

The stress and demand for almost 100 accounts and they change Account Managers often which is dropped into your lap as the Dell loyal customer was just trusting the team they had for the past year. The lure of the name, however support from management is lacking and have zero second thoughts on dumping workloads that are overwhelming and quota's are created for them to make money. Outside team is paid triple what inside is paid, if you can start off making less than an HEB checker or Home Depot employee, then stick with it but for those who can't afford to live ONLY on the base salary, never count on commission or raises.

Successful high tech company with opportunities

I am proud to work for a company that offers the most forward thinking high tech solutions for customers. There is never a shortage of work to be done and the work is challenging. Sales seems to be the best org to be in if you are looking for upward mobility, since other groups don't seem to have such opportunity.

Learned a lot while there, and grew my skills, at great personal cost

I originally loved the open and vibrant culture. Everything was fast-paced and individual freedom and flexibility was great. Especially if you were reliable, over-achieving, and threw yourself into every customer issue with great abandon until resolved. As time went by, the company grew and became more cannibalistic and erratic. Management talent became more political and diversity-oriented, vs people who had earned the skills to be great managers. Quality of work life degraded, with more and more unclear projects, lots of overlapping and competing functions, and eventually widespread incompetence ruined the work culture. Was working harder and harder, longer and longer hours, with less results and satisfaction. Lessons for all.

Challenging to join corporate as an "outsider" but opportunities if you are a proactive problem solver / like driving improvements!

Dell basically has it's own proprietary language, including countless acronyms, and most folks in higher level corporate positions have typically spent their whole (or most of) their career at Dell (i.e. 20 - 30 years). That said, it can be a bit overwhelming at first to know what's going on and feel like you fit in / can add lots of value rapidly. However, if you have strong business acumen, pick up on things quickly, aren't afraid to ask questions / invest time in really digging in and learning how Dell operates and the terms they use, etc., AND love solving problems / proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and helping to drive changes and maturity, I think there is a lot of opportunity for outsiders to join Dell and make really big impacts! Don't get me wrong.... there are a lot of very smart people at Dell but given most of them have been there for so long (and that Dell is notorious for back-to-back meetings from sun up to sun down - especially the higher up you go), I feel like there isn't as much 'outside the box' thinking or best practices that are introduced as one might think -- so if you are the kind of person who excels in those types of environments and challenges, it might be a perfect place for you! Just also be prepared if you are working for a VP or above, you should be a self-starter / self-motivator and able to make decisions confidently, as they really are swamped non-stop with meetings and tons of projects so you might not get much time to interact w/ them...

Awful company to work for👎🏻

Terrible management to include HR total slanderous atmosphere and couraged at the Dell computers by management and HR. Certain race schism’s from the employees were pointed out to management and HR, which I’ve witnessed other employees who complained were fired or driven out. Their management would explain that the company comes first all employees are secondary. Very toxic work atmosphere.

Poor corporate culture and sub par leadership

Just treat it as a job, not a career - because that is how leadership and the company will treat you. It’s nothing personal, just how it is... Have a long-term goal of what you way to do post Dell.

There are some great people here but going in as a contractor is not a great deal. Contractors are treated complete different and not seen as equals to FTE's.

Great place to work but very aggressive in their approach!

Great place to work but management is very hit or miss. Many legacy Dell team members need to grow out of the command and control method of managing people or projects. We come to work to respect each other, not be in control of each other and we certainly do not command our peers. We leave children at home. It's time Dell evolved past this culture.

Dell Corporate Ladder is too long that there is no oversight of the true collaborator during buyout if preexisting businesses

I was with my original company for a few years working on multiple success programs during the Dell acquisition process of this company. Upon immediate acquisition/buyout of the business, management handoff unwarranted intellectual properties and seized all R&D data for the various programs before acquisition in hope of job security and program ownership. Less than two months later upon Dell's onboarding and final acquisition of Alienware, 80% of the Alienware workforce laid off, left with job growth verbal promises. One can assume: the removal of documented R&D program personnel and provided new contractual arrangements that superseded pre-existed incentive was to circumvent legal employees' action against both organizations if agreed by the employee by with enticed contractual arrangement that affords Dell & their partners to not rightfully compensate intellects. Leadership was poor, file management disorganized, and lack of internal Design and Engineer teams that value well acumen for the Arts and Sciences. If Dell is acquiring your company, start to look for a new opportunity and do not sign contractual offers without an attorney as these contracts provide a little time to complete and return with the threat of being laid-off that happened anyway from my experience. This organization is not a great place to start a career unless you're on the corporate side of the business, then maybe you get credited for your work which they hoist from their acquisition business development process and hang off to their corporate leadership to lead cheap product development in Asian to -

Poor culture and morale

Development and UX are very demoralized and the process is very waterfall. Pay is good but comes at a cost of being disrespected. Many leaders have been there too long and do not want any new ideas or change.

You have the flexibility of working from home. You can work from anywhere and they offer classes to help you in your job role. When opportunities keep coming on your way, it becomes tough for you to decide which one to pick and which to drop. No matter what decision you make, it will directly affect your career and then life. Moreover, there’s opportunity cost of the offers you decide to let go of because of one offer you choose to accept.
