Jonajo Consulting is seeking a Lead Website Developer to support the development of WordPress websites and the improvement of our website platform. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive background in web development, particularly with WordPress, and a strong understanding of various web technologies and best practices.

Responsibilities

Website Development:

• Develop websites for Jonajo Consulting’s clients.
• Collaborate with UX Designers to create front-end interfaces and UI interactions, ensuring adherence to best practices including responsive design.
• Develop websites to meet a variety of client needs.
• Partner with clients, graphic designers, and editors to define, develop, and establish objectives to meet web specification requirements.
• Independently address technical issues and provide solutions related to institutional compatibility, support, and system needs.
• Engage with all levels of Product Development to support website creation.
• Manage projects and establish commitments while demonstrating effective communication skills to interact with diverse personalities, disciplines, and customers.
• Establish commitments of cost, schedule, scope, and quality of projects with limited direction.

Website Platform:

• Collaborate with the team lead to develop and implement innovative ideas for improving user experience, code quality, and productivity.
• Provide direction on best practices and implementation of web applications, CMS utilization, UI/UX design principles, and scripting for multiple internal and external sites.
• Identify and present improvements to the WordPress farm and relevant technology and tools for custom development efforts.
• Independently determine project objectives and scope, establishing commitments of cost, schedule, and quality of assignments.

Requirements

Technical Proficiency:

• Proficiency with building tools such as WordPress, Node.js, NPM, Docker, or Laravel.
• Knowledge of caching mechanisms like Varnish, Memcached, Redis.
• Comprehensive knowledge of LAMP server architecture and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of server architecture, Linux, Apache, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
• Experience with Docker, Git, and other relevant software and applications.
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular.

Web Development Expertise:

• Extensive experience building sites, developing themes, and creating/modifying modules for CMS such as Drupal, WordPress, and Liferay.
• In-depth understanding of the latest technologies and best practices in CMS, web architecture, scripting, UI/UX design principles, and framework software.
• Knowledge of current trends and best practices in web architecture and design including performance, accessibility, UI/UX design, prototyping, scalability, compliance, and usability.

Communication and Project Management:

• Upper Intermediate+ proficiency in English.
• Significant experience managing projects and establishing commitments.
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills necessary to interact effectively with a diverse group of personalities, disciplines, and customers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $70,000.00 per month
