Job Description: This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated legal professional to join DXC Legal Team. As Associate Corporate Counsel, you will join the global governance legal team in the Office of the Corporate Secretary providing both day-to-day and strategic legal support for company secretarial and legal entity governance matters across DXC’s LATAM footprint. You will manage the legal aspects of board meetings, shareholders resolutions, intercompany financial or securities transactions, and corporate secretarial functions, and serve as an advisor and partner to the legal representatives of DXC’s subsidiaries across LATAM. Lastly, you will ensure that DXC adheres to best practices in corporate governance.

This position is a good fit for someone looking for a challenging opportunity at a global, fast-moving, demanding and results-oriented company.

Qualifications

  • A law degree from an accredited law school and current license to practice law in Mexico. Other LATAM country legal qualifications will be considered.
  • At least 5 years of relevant law firm and/or in-house legal experience. Prior in-house legal experience in a multi-national company is a plus.
  • Experience with managing corporate governance requirements and drafting resolutions and board minutes.
  • A solid understanding of corporate law is required; understanding of other corporate legal domains and LATAM contracting standards is beneficial.

Skills

  • Written and verbal fluency in Spanish and English. Some proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese is a plus.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, including clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and meet critical deadlines with supervision.
  • Ability to assess and explain a broad range of legal concepts to business executives, build consensus across business units, think creatively, and collaborate with other executives to address business needs.
  • Strong organizational skills, analytical ability, and excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to juggle many competing priorities and to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Willingness to learn and take on matters outside your primary practice areas.

Personal Attributes

  • A solutions-oriented team player who can effectively collaborate and build relationships with attorneys, business teams and other corporate departments throughout the organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and work with people from different backgrounds, experience and locations at all levels.
  • Sound judgement, high integrity, and a strong sense of personal responsibility.
  • A creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and resolve conflicts or disagreements.
  • Professional demeanor, positive and service-oriented attitude.
  • Common sense, good judgment, and a solution-oriented attitude toward legal issues.

Recruitment fraud is a scheme in which fictitious job opportunities are offered to job seekers typically through online services, such as false websites, or through unsolicited emails claiming to be from the company. These emails may request recipients to provide personal information or to make payments as part of their illegitimate recruiting process. DXC does not make offers of employment via social media networks and DXC never asks for any money or payments from applicants at any point in the recruitment process, nor ask a job seeker to purchase IT or other equipment on our behalf.
